Santos genuinely shows a desire to offset emissions and target lower GHG emissions through technology like CCS and reduction in deforestation in places like PNG. Efforts are always appreciated but require the staff to undertake the technical and commercial work to make these efforts not just company Net Zero goals, but reality.

The company used to have very green intentions with proposed hydrogen development and net zero goals. It seems the focus is turning back to more production and less environmentally sustainable goals :(

They try to reduce emissions wherever possible

My rating may seem odd, but I think Santos is really well positioned to make changes with CCS. From the projects I have worked, I have seen real commitment to minimising our impact, often at great expense to ourselves.

Considering the industry the company works in it is difficult to rate this highly. We do have Carbon Capture and Storage projects that are being built which will help to reduce our environmental footprint.

I don't think we are that sustainable to be honest. I mean we are an oil and gas company afterall.

Many people would criticise an oil and gas companies e?orts at sustainability, but Santos is working to provide extensive carbon capture and storage facilities to help Australia reach its net zero goal in line with the Paris agreement. Our environmental department also does a great job on day-to-day monitoring of land rights and environmental safety of operations.
