Job Overview

The Technology division within Macquarie's Corporate Operations Group is responsible for the management of Macquarie's technology infrastructure, the support and development of existing business systems, and the delivery and deployment, of new systems, technologies, and services. It comprises business-aligned teams which provide dedicated and specialist services to businesses as well as central teams which provide shared services, such as infrastructure, to multiple businesses.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-class relational database management systems support.
• First level resolution of data-based alert.
• Ongoing upgrade and maintenance of associated platform hardware.
• Ensuring that database systems are built to Macquarie standards and with the existing fleet meeting our compliance standards.
• Ability to view current processes and procedures as opportunities for enhancement, tuning, and improvement.
• Work quickly and effectively to resolve or escalate production Sybase, Oracle, or SQL issues at the first sign of detection using agreed monitoring and resolution processes.
• Involvement in the automation and manual executions of database system builds, installations, provisioning, and deployment.
• Ensuring optimum performance and availability of Macquarie's database systems.
• Determination of failure trends and root cause.
• Be a strong, dynamic character, capable of dealing effectively with colleagues and business users working in a constantly evolving environment.
• Ability to work as part of a regional team across multiple countries, cultures, and time zones.
• A quick-thinking problem solver, able to assimilate data rapidly in order to present solutions to day-to-day incidents.
• Ability to work independently and with a strong sense of ownership.
• Be able to remain calm under pressure and when faced with adversity or urgent issues.
