About Macquarie

A career at Macquarie means youโ€™ll have the opportunity to develop and utilise new skills, explore interesting fields and do challenging work that will impact the lives of people around the worldโ€”whether itโ€™s accelerating the green energy transition, helping sustain global food supplies, financing social housing projects or investing in essential infrastructure. At Macquarie, thy're empowering people to innovate and invest for a better future.

Your role

By joining Macquarie as a graduate, you will become an integral member of the team. You will develop your skills and build your career while sitting side-by-side with their business leaders and have the opportunity to work on projects from day one.

They have exciting opportunities within their various teams such as:

Market Operations which provides independent specialist trade validation, confirmation, settlement, payments and treasury support, as well as client lifecycle management, reconciliations services and regulatory reporting  for a variety of products and currencies for many of Macquarieโ€™s businesses globally;

HR Operations which provides group-wide support for Human Resources functions including global payroll, onboarding, HR Service Desk, and mobility;

Business Services which provides strategic sourcing, procurement operations and vendor management services; and

Risk Management, an independent and centralised function responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to material risks across Macquarie. RMG designs and oversees the implementation of the risk management framework.

Training, development & rotations

They empower their people to learn, grow and develop their careers with them. As an employee you will have access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities designed to help you develop your soft and technical skills.

You will also have access to subsidised relevant external study as well as paid professional memberships.

As a global business there are also opportunities for you to grow your career in one of their many offices around the world.

At Macquarie, youโ€™re empowered to innovate and invest for a better future.

You could play a role in managing critical infrastructure, new energy projects, and sustainable food supplies. Or bring investors and ideas together to develop solar farms, data centers, and telecommunications networks.

Perhaps youโ€™ll help advise big business on acquisitions, restructures and investments. Support teams that trade commodities, energy, metals, futures and currencies. Or even help people buy their first home, finance their business and invest in their future.

Compensation & benefits

To reward their people, they aim to offer competitive compensation packages. Other financial benefits include salary sacrificing, staff rates on Macquarie Bank home loans, salary continuance insurance, a Macquarie-managed superannuation fund and a range of retail, insurance, and vehicle discounts. They also offer novated leases, recruitment referral awards and financial education sessions.

They offer a range of leave options to help their people manage their work and life priorities. Employees receive one wellbeing leave day per year and are eligible for up to five additional days' leave based on length of service.

Other leave options include compassionate and bereavement leave, paid leave for those impacted by family or domestic violence, paid defence leave, study/exam leave and emergency volunteer leave.

Eligible employees can also purchase up to 20 daysโ€™ additional annual leave and take up to three months' unpaid leave.

Career progression

There are a range of learning and development opportunities available to you at Macquarie. From team development and manager capability to individual skills development, their learning and development teams design programs to help you develop your knowledge and skills.

At Macquarie, youโ€™ll be encouraged to own your career. This means that itโ€™s up to you to choose which direction you want to take โ€“ whether thatโ€™s taking on a new project; progressing within your division; exploring an opportunity in a different team; or relocating globally โ€“ and their learning and development programs can be tailored to help you get there.

Work-life balance

At Macquarie, hybrid working empowers them to work together flexibly, balancing time spent working in the office and at home. Their shift to hybrid working is an extension of their long-standing commitment to flexible working.

They are a people business. They build relationships and learn from each other. Hybrid working enables them to balance the needs of their clients, colleagues and teams, taking advantage of the benefits of coming together in person and providing their people with the flexibility they need.

Your family is important to you, so they are important to them too. They support parents in many ways including through their parental leave policy. Primary carers are eligible for 20 weeksโ€™ leave at full pay. There is no minimum tenure requirement meaning all employees are eligible for parental leave upon starting work at Macquarie.
