Junior Operations Analyst - Custodian Operations

Governance offerings include objective governance research and recommendations, and end-to-end proxy voting and distribution solutions. Institutional clients have long turned to ISS to apply their corporate governance views, identify environmental, social and governance risk, and manage their complete proxy voting needs on a global basis. ISS covers approximately 44,000 meetings in 115 countries yearly, delivering proxy research and vote recommendations while working closely with clients to execute more than 10.2 million ballots representing 4.2 trillion shares.

About the Team

Custodian Operations, as a component of ISS, focuses on the relationship between ISS and the custodian banks along with owning the complex account environment updates needed to ensure proper proxy voting. Custodian Operations manages complex relationships between Client Services, our clients, custodian banks, and Broadridge. The team is responsible in managing the client's account environment while ensuring proper application of team processes. Custodian Operations analysts work with internal and external groups to improve application functionality, operational efficiency, and communication between all involved parties with regards to the proxy voting process.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the processes by which information and data are added to or exported from production systems through electronic data feeds and other media.
• Maintain data to ensure the quality of mission-critical information using both proprietary applications and commonly used business software applications.
• Monitor key performance indicators to ensure the integrity of assigned data management areas.
• Work with account managers to ensure that required client data is received in a timely and high-quality manner.
• Ensure comprehensive audit trails are in place for data that is received from or sent to production systems.
• Monitor quality control metrics to identify potential data issues and taking ownership of resolution for all issues that are identified.
• Support development of training documentation and systems to support the growing team.

In addition to the above team responsibilities, the following activities are representative of the different functions for the team:

• Process custodian account information to meet desired turnaround goals.
• Develop and refine relationship with Custodian analysts
• Create a positive relationship with the Client Services team, provide proper information on each process and resolution on each request.
• Responsible for operations specific Key Performance Indicators
• Timely resolution of workflow related processes
• Additional duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent​
• Willing to have an entry-level position
• Excellent oral and written communications
