Your role

ISS is seeking motivated individuals to join their team be fill the role of Junior Research Analyst in Makati, Philippines.

The role will be in-charge of analyzing corporate governance data and financial information and provide reports for institutional investors aligned with ISS voting policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing company reports, corporate governance data and financial information.
  • Authoring detailed and well-reasoned written analyses on listed companies.
  • Providing vote recommendations for shareholders' general meetings.
  • Engaging in dialogue with senior representatives of large companies as part of the research process.
  • Engaging with institutional investor client and other stakeholders.
  • Discussing reports, and responding to questions, internally and externally.
  • Contributing to the publication of research papers and to the development of ISS corporate governance policies.
  • Developing an expertise in the UK market regarding corporate governance, investment, and shareholders' issues.
  • Participating in debates on corporate governance and the implementation of the voting policy among team members and other research teams.
  • Opportunities to contribute to various other bespoke projects outside of the normal day-to-day responsibilities.

About you

To be considered for the role, you must have these qualifications:

  • Impeccable written English.
  • Demonstrable ability to construct a well-reasoned and cogent analysis, in clear and sophisticated language.
  • Interest in finance, investment management, and corporate governance topics.
  • Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Political Sciences, International Relations, History or English.
  • Confident, polished, and diplomatic verbal communication.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to absorb and distil large quantities of information.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiatives, and collaborate within a team.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office apps, especially Word and Excel).
