Job Summary

Provide requirements and data analysis, process documentation and conversion of reporting related business needs to technical plans for moderate business problems. Provide project management support for reporting projects, facilitating the collaboration among multiple teams to accomplish the desired solution. The position is a point of contact on the reporting team for communicating defined technology solutions to meet the needs of internal and external clients for assigned projects. Provide daily, ongoing support and issue resolution for one or more clients, business groups, vendors, and third parties in relation to data delivery from Alorica.

Job Functions

  • The main focus of the position is to ensure that all data deliverables for assigned client, vendor, system, etc. are monitored and delivered on time, accurately and without incident.
  • Project participation in projects related to reporting functions, including project management functions as related to reporting related tasks
  • Documentation of requirements as defined by internal or external clients for projects, processes, training, etc. including functional requirements and technical solution documents
  • Analysis of data sets for relational and functional purposes
  • Coordinate acquisition of additional data needed from other systems and/or external companies
  • Understand and relate data from multiple systems
  • Understanding of basic database structures and how to query them
  • Ability to research and identify data and how it is used in disparate systems
  • Develop and execute test plans
  • Conduct data analysis and data quality assessment in multiple data sets, multiple data warehouses and sourced from multiple systems
  • Problem resolution
  • Mapping of data into standard data sets
  • Ownership and support of assigned clients and/or functional areas
  • Subject matter expert in data content and usage
  • Manage the relationship between Reporting team and other groups that the team interacts with.
  • Develop and execute basic to intermediate Microsoft SQL queries
  • Basic understanding of how an enterprise scheduling system works.
  • Conduct basic data quality audits

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, and participate in, as necessary, the activities related to consulting with end-users to define the scope and objectives of requests, identifying requirements based on end-user feedback - including project needs, documentation, training, etc.
  • Ability to prepare a work breakdown structure for basic projects, and manage a project according to the plan.
  • Strong attention to micro-level detail in data, processes, requirements, testing, etc.
  • Maintain organized documentation for assigned responsibilities.
  • Conduct work according to standard processes and procedures.
  • Conduct high-level impact analysis on client requests for reporting support and provide results
  • Create detailed project specification documentation on requested services to meet business needs, including solution design documentation
  • Lead and participate in the activities involved in developing a comprehensive and logical test plan to confirm the end-user requirements are met
  • Problem resolution, including following the path of data and technical processes through various systems to identify the root cause and facilitate resolution. This may include incident management and multiple-team coordination.
  • Perform data analysis and audits, understanding how data gets from one state to the next, and what impacts the change.
  • Subject Matter Expertise regarding functional areas assigned, including understanding processes outside of this role that may impact the deliverables of the position
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and post-production validation
  • Performs necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to determine project feasibility.
  • Collaborate with development to provide work effort and resource estimates and timelines for requests and projects.
  • Prepares routine project status reports and estimates project-staffing requirements.
  • Produces business and functional specification documentation based upon client needs.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff, internal and external to the company.
  • Coordinate and participate in activities associated with assigned projects including estimation of work effort, establishing timelines, monitoring project tasks to ensure project schedule is being met and maintaining project files that are well documented and organized.
  • Provides problem analysis and resolution support for existing applications.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and/or vendors

Job Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in Information Technology, preferably in reporting and analysis
  • Previous experience creating Microsoft SSRS or Crystal reports is preferred.
  • Experience extracting data from a database to generate reports is preferred.
  • Call Center experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to execute basic to intermediate level Microsoft SQL queries
  • Ability to create basic reports using Microsoft SSRS, Crystal Reports, LogiAnalytics, or PowerBI
  • Ability to meet or exceed departmental metrics as established over time
  • Understanding of processes relating to data integration, data extraction, and data standardization (ETL)
  • Knowledge of function and purpose of a data warehouse
  • Ability to analyze data and identify patterns and trends
  • Ability to document processes and procedures utilized in automation
  • Must be able to understand technical issues and explain them to non-technical people.
  • Strong ability to successfully manage multiple projects
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects that may have conflicting priorities
  • Receptive to seniors when being mentored and in turn assist in the mentoring of other team members as needed
  • Self-motivated learner – Ability to learn without formal training
  • Self-starter – Ability to work on projects with little prior knowledge or formal training
